Susan Avalon allegedly shot her ex-husband Timothy Flecher, 55, at his home in Tampa, where he was found dead from a gunshot wound. A 911 call from Flecher's phone captured sounds consistent with gunshots but no words from the caller. When dispatchers called back, a woman answered, claiming she was exercising and saying, 'just hit the button,' before hanging up. Neighbors reported seeing a woman in a gray hoodie and jeans leave the scene in a silver Honda Odyssey, later identified by surveillance footage linking her to both incidents, according to investigators. Avalon's boyfriend recognized her voice on the 911 recording, officials said. The Hillsborough County State's Attorney's Office stated in a press release that it intends to pursue capital punishment in Flecher's first-degree murder case, with Avalon's next court date set for July 9. She remains in custody without bond. Hours after Flecher's death, Avalon allegedly shot David Scott, 54, in the chest at his Bradenton home. Scott told deputies 'possibly my ex-wife' shot him before dying; their teenage daughter had called 911. A spilled Panera Bread soup cup was nearby. Manatee County Sheriff's Office surveillance showed a woman matching Avalon's description taking food meant for delivery drivers without paying. Manatee County Sheriff Rick Wells noted at a press conference, 'Doesn't pay for it, it's not hers. She just decides this is gonna be her way to the front door.' When deputies approached Avalon at her home for questioning, she emerged with bleach and cleaning rags, wiping down her silver Honda Odyssey. Asked about her ex-husband, she reportedly replied, 'Which one?' Avalon faces second-degree murder charges in Scott's case, with a court appearance scheduled for July 30.
