Former Mekelle mayor criticizes TPLF leadership

Former Mekelle mayor Ataklti Haile Selassie said the TPLF never prioritized the interests of the Tigray people.

Ataklti Haile Selassie told Fana Podcast that TPLF leaders worked for personal gain rather than public interest.

According to Ataklti the group issued a decree restricting freedom of expression and other citizen rights.

He said the decree criminalizes activities such as demanding peace and justice.

Professor Kindeya Gebrehiwet, former head of the Tigray interim administration secretariat, called on the international community to condemn anti-peace activities by the former TPLF group.
