The Financial Regulatory Authority has launched a training programme to prepare state-owned companies provisionally listed on the Egyptian Exchange for public offerings.
The launch was attended by Mohamed Farid, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade; Hashem El Sayed, Assistant to the Prime Minister and Chief Executive Officer of the State Ownership Unit; and Omar Radwan, Chairman of the Egyptian Exchange. The programme includes seven training modules on regulatory frameworks, listing procedures, corporate governance and disclosure.
The first training cycle began on Sunday and runs for seven intensive days. It targets chairpersons, chief financial officers and other executives from 14 provisionally listed companies. Sessions are delivered by experts from the Financial Services Institute and the Egyptian Institute of Directors.
Islam Azzam, Chairman of the FRA, said the programme supports the government’s IPO plans and will expand to companies in the petroleum, mining, tourism and other sectors.
