Musician Gil Ofarim has won the final of RTL's reality show 'I'm a Celebrity – Get Me Out of Here!' and receives 100,000 euros plus the jungle crown. Despite controversies surrounding his past, he led all votes and defeated Samira Yavuz and Hubert Fella. His victory sparks debates among viewers and fellow campers.

On late Sunday evening, 43-year-old Gil Ofarim was crowned the winner of the 2026 edition of Dschungelcamp. Moderators Sonja Zietlow and Jan Köppen announced that he received the most viewer votes, securing the jungle crown and 100,000 euros in prize money. Samira Yavuz from 'The Bachelor' came in second, followed by Hubert Fella from 'Ab ins Beet!' Ofarim led every voting round, according to the moderators.

In the finale, Ofarim completed a final challenge, sticking his head into Plexiglas orbs filled with scorpions and giant cockroaches while unscrewing stars. 'The name Gil translates to 'joy' in German. It's back now,' he said. 'The jungle has brought me back, back to life.'

Ofarim's participation was controversial from the start. In 2021, he falsely accused a Leipzig hotel employee of antisemitism and admitted in 2023 court that he had fabricated the claims. The proceedings were suspended after a 10,000 euro payment and an apology. In the camp, he refused to discuss it publicly, citing a non-disclosure agreement he called a 'Verschwiegenheitserklärung,' though it was actually an undertaking not to repeat the claims. He had already apologized in court.

Fellow campers sharply criticized his behavior. Simone Ballack, eliminated in the semi-final, said: 'If Gil wins, I lose faith in reality shows.' She described him as a manipulator based on talks with his ex-wife Verena and noted '28 different Gils' in camp due to his erratic behavior. Patrick Romer also felt a 'weird gut feeling' and observed changes in Ofarim's personality. Despite the criticism, viewers voted him the winner, which many find surprising.

X discussions on Gil Ofarim's Dschungelcamp 2026 win are predominantly negative, focusing on his past Davidstern scandal as evidence of viewer gullibility and moral decline. Skeptical users mock RTL's decision and question societal values. A minority celebrates it as defiance against antisemitism. Neutral news shares report the result amid debates.

The 19th season of "I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!" kicked off with two separate camps in Australia, gross challenges, and tensions surrounding the unpopular contestant Gil Ofarim. The celebrities divided into two teams competing for stars to earn better food. Dramas erupted even before entry, including accusations against Ofarim over his past.

On the second day of RTL's 2026 Dschungelcamp in Australia, celebrities revealed personal fates, including Gil Ofarim discussing financial and health issues while sidestepping his 2021 antisemitism scandal. Other participants like Hardy Krüger jr. and Mirja du Mont shared emotional experiences with loss and anxiety disorders. A challenge attempt failed, leaving the camp with beans and rice.

On day 11 of the jungle camp, there was no elimination, but instead a reconciliatory gesture from Gil Ofarim to Ariel. The nine remaining candidates learned who received the fewest votes, but the resolution comes in the next episode. Gil later broke down in tears while speaking about his family.

On day six of the RTL show "I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!", Gil Ofarim, Ariel, and Eva Benetatou battled nausea in a tough eating challenge. The menu featured water buffalo kidneys, crocodile eyes, camel brain, and cow urine in frog blood jelly. Only Ofarim managed to earn three stars.

In the fourth episode of RTL's Dschungelcamp in Murwillumbah, reality star Ariel refused to participate in the jungle trial following a heated argument with Eva Benetatou. The 22-year-old declined to team up with someone whose moral values she does not share and burst into tears. As a result, the camp continues to receive only rice and beans.

In Melodifestivalen's fourth semi-final at Malmö Arena, debutant Cimberly with 'Eternity' and rock band Smash Into Pieces with 'Hollow' advanced directly to the final. Meira Omar secured the qualifying spot with 'Dooset Daram'. The other artists were eliminated.
