Sony announced that God of War Laufey will launch on February 16, 2027, exclusively for the PlayStation 5. The reveal came during a panel at San Diego Comic-Con on July 25.
The release date was confirmed via a teaser that read, "Enter the afterlife of the gods when God of War Laufey launches on PS5 February 16, 2027." The game is in development at Santa Monica Studio.
Franchise director Cory Barlog said at the panel, "I wanted to show an extension of this world where the characters you'll encounter are unexpected. Laufey is a continuation of what came before and to prepare and expand what comes next."
A second God of War title starring Kratos is also in development, though it lacks a release date. The studio confirmed Laufey will include a physical disc edition.
