HV71 signs Noah Philp as center reinforcement

HV71 has completed the signing of Canadian center Noah Philp following the end of the AHL playoffs. The 26-year-old joins from Chicago Wolves and was described as a long-planned addition.

The agreement between the club and Philp had been in place for some time, according to acting general manager Johan Hult. Officials waited until after the player finished his season with Chicago Wolves before making the announcement public.

Hult highlighted Philp's fit with the team's needs. "We like very much what Noah Philp stands for. He is right-shot, has a size that is favorable for us and has played hockey at a high level," Hult said. "Above all, he uses his size in both ends of the ice."

The addition of Philp alongside Jan Mysak completes HV71's target of securing two dedicated centers. Hult noted that the next focus is hiring an assistant coach to work with Niklas Eriksson. One defensive position remains open after Axel Rindell's departure.
