Jason Day announces TIAA sponsorship ahead of Masters

Jason Day, the 13-time PGA Tour winner, has partnered with TIAA as the retirement planner's first Golf Ambassador. The deal was announced on Monday during Masters practice week at Augusta National. Day wore a bird-themed vest from sponsor Malbon Golf, after one planned outfit was rejected by tournament officials.

On Monday, TIAA named Jason Day its inaugural Golf Ambassador, highlighting his tenacity, discipline and appeal to younger fans through his YouTube channel, The Lads. The partnership aims to promote secure financial futures via brand initiatives and digital content. Day, ranked 41st in the world, said: “Partnering with TIAA feels right because we share a belief that everyone deserves a secure financial future. I’ve worked my whole career to build something lasting: for myself, for my family, and for the next generation.” TIAA chief marketing and communications officer Micky Onvural added: “Jason Day is not only one of the most accomplished players of this generation, but also part of a movement reshaping what golf looks and feels like.” Day has two top-10 finishes in seven 2026 starts, including T6 at the Texas Children’s Houston Open, and five top-10s in 14 Masters appearances, with T8 last year. During Monday's practice round, Day wore a tan vest covered in birds like scarlet tanagers and eastern bluebirds, representing Augusta National's avian residents. Malbon Golf, his apparel sponsor, designed the motif inspired by Native American beliefs, with bird sounds sent to Day for six months. One planned head-to-toe bird rain suit was rejected by Augusta officials, though the jacket may be used Thursday if rain arrives. Day plans the bird vest for Friday and a fishing vest-like piece Tuesday. In 2024, Augusta asked him to remove a busy Malbon sweater mid-round, which later auctioned for $17,300 for his Brighter Days Foundation.
