Jonas Holmström named new head coach for BIK Karlskoga

BIK Karlskoga has appointed Jonas Holmström as its new head coach for next season, replacing Dennis Hall. Hall left after a final loss to Björklöven to take the helm at Luleå in the SHL. Holmström joins from Aalborg Pirates in Denmark.

BIK Karlskoga confirmed the hiring of Jonas Holmström as head coach on Sunday, filling the vacancy left by Dennis Hall. Hall departed following the team's final loss to Björklöven, moving up to the SHL to succeed Thomas “Bulan” Berglund at Luleå. Sportchef Torsten Yngveson praised the appointment on the club's website, stating: “In Jonas, we get a modern and hard-working coach with high ambitions to continue developing Bofors forward. He is an offensively oriented coach who fits well into the structure and identity that BIK wants to stand for, and together with the rest of the staff, he will contribute drive, engagement, and continued strong leadership.” Holmström brings experience as a former player and assistant coach in both HockeyAllsvenskan and SHL. His most recent role was head coach of Aalborg Pirates in Denmark. He expressed enthusiasm, saying: “It feels very good and inspiring to be part of BIK Karlskoga. It's a club that I have great respect for, ever since I faced them as a player myself. I look forward to continuing to build on the path that has proven successful for Bofors.” The contract covers the 2027/28 season.
