A terrain fire broke out on Sunday afternoon near Lilla Jordgölen in Boxholm Municipality. Rescue services and a fire plane worked to extinguish the flames. The area is estimated at three hectares.
Shortly after 13:00 the rescue services were alerted to the fire. A caller had seen a large smoke column from the area. Eight units took part in the firefighting effort.
The terrain is inaccessible. Duty officer Christian Lind said twelve firefighters worked to get around the blaze. The Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency sent a fire plane that water-bombed shortly before 17:00.
By 20:00 the fire plane could leave the scene. Rescue services planned monitoring before handover to the landowner. A smaller fire covering about 50 square metres was also reported near Hynngölen at 18:00.
