Lieutenant Ronickson Pimentel dos Santos showed improvement in brain edema after a tomography on Monday. He remains hospitalized in grave condition in the ICU.
The attack occurred on Saturday afternoon, June 27, when Ronickson stopped at a traffic light on Avenida Goiás in São Caetano do Sul. Two men on a motorcycle fired multiple shots at the officer, who is the brother of Eloá Pimentel, killed in 2008.
Civil Police are investigating the case as a premeditated crime, with evidence of planning and task division among at least five people. Two suspects were arrested for logistical support, according to the courts.
Ronickson, 39, remains sedated and on mechanical ventilation at Hospital Mário Covas in Santo André. Military Police confirmed the reduction in edema after exams.
