The Linux Foundation, a nonprofit organization, revealed its 2026 events program on January 23, 2026, positioning open source AI at the forefront. This initiative includes numerous conferences and community events spanning core infrastructure to production-ready AI frameworks, aiming to foster ecosystems, standards, and developer communities.
A central theme is the shift of AI toward practical deployment. To address this, the foundation is introducing and expanding AI-centric events such as the MCP Dev Summit in North America and Europe, Agentics Day: MCP + Agents Europe, Cloud Native AI + Kubeflow Day Europe, and the PyTorch Conference Europe in Paris. Additionally, the AI_Dev Summit will integrate into the global Open Source Summit series, underscoring AI's role in the open source ecosystem. These efforts prioritize open standards and community-driven development to ensure AI systems are scalable, interoperable, and ready for production.

Co-located sessions will cover cloud native computing, security, and observability. Expansion reaches Asia with events in India and China, and North America in the US, reflecting aligned open source communities tackling AI and infrastructure advancements.
