Liverpool name youthful side for Iraola debut against Sunderland

New Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola will lead his team for the first time in a pre-season friendly against Sunderland in Nashville. The Spaniard took charge after replacing Arne Slot earlier this summer. Both sides have released their confirmed line-ups for the match.

Liverpool have selected a largely youthful squad for the game. Several senior players remain absent following the World Cup.

The starting XI includes Mamardashvili in goal, with Frimpong, Gomez, N’Diaye and Tsimikas in defence. Jones, McConnell and Ngumoha feature in midfield alongside Elliott, Morrison and Wright.

Sunderland line up with Ellborg between the posts. Mukiele, Ballard, O’Nien and Reinildo form the back line. Browne, Le Fee and Rigg start in the middle, supported by Hume, Mundle and Isidor.
