Marmozets part ways with bassist Sam MacIntyre

Marmozets have announced that bassist Sam MacIntyre is no longer in the band following an unworkable relationship dynamic. The decision was shared on Instagram by the remaining members. Sam, who joined in 2007, is the brother of singer Becca MacIntyre and drummer Josh.

The Yorkshire alt-rock band confirmed the split on July 23. The statement noted that the move came after their best efforts to resolve issues.

“We’re taking the time, while on a little break, to inform you that we have parted ways with Sam MacIntyre due to the relationship becoming unworkable despite our best intentions and attempts,” the post read. “Please be assured that this decision is in the best interests of everyone involved.”

The change follows the May 22 release of their album CO.WAR.DICE and recent headline shows plus festival appearances. The band also opened for Biffy Clyro at London’s Finsbury Park earlier this month. Specific details about the departure remain undisclosed.
