McDonald's Türkiye has introduced the 'Archie' controller peripheral, designed to keep games running while players step away. The device, shaped like the brand's golden arches, holds analogue sticks together to maintain character movement. It comes free with the new Pro Gamer Menu.
McDonald's Türkiye announced the 'Archie' on April 3 via press release. The gadget addresses players going AFK during online sessions, especially intense moments. Özdeş Dönen Artak, CMO of McDonald's Türkiye, explained: “Being away from the screen during online gameplay – especially in high-intensity moments – can directly disrupt the flow of the game. That is why many players turn to different workarounds. We transformed this behaviour into a gamer insight and made Archie part of the McDonald's experience by offering it as a gift to customers who order the Pro Gamer Menu.” The Pro Gamer Menu features a Big Mac, medium fries, medium Coke and eight onion rings. Currently, 'Archie' is exclusive to Türkiye, making local gamers the first to receive it worldwide. This follows McDonald's collaboration with Capcom late last year in Japan, which offered Street Fighter-themed “Street Burgers” and exclusive skins, paired with McFizz drinks in special cups.
