Daniil Medvedev lost to Adam Walton in five sets during the opening round of the French Open on May 26.
Medvedev dropped the match 6-2, 1-6, 6-1, 1-6, 6-4 after a back-and-forth contest played in hot conditions at Roland Garros. The Russian repeatedly voiced frustration with the temperature during the match. His wife, Daria Medvedeva, called out from the stands with the message that everyone was suffering and he needed to behave. Medvedev responded that he would calm down once he started finding the court.
