Mexican influencer Mercedes Roa disclosed health aftermath two weeks after an assault in Marseille, France. The knee injury prevents her from practicing impact sports like soccer. She needs intensive treatment and possibly surgery if it does not improve.
Mercedes Roa, known for her involvement in Supernova Strikers 2025 and the Kings League, shared a concerning update on the consequences of an assault in Marseille. The incident began when a group of men offered cocaine to her and her friends, who refused. The situation escalated quickly: one attacker threw a friend to the ground and attempted to kick her in the head, while Roa and the others received blows as they tried to defend themselves.
It started with a friend asking to borrow a lighter, prompting a violent reaction. The men tried to force drug consumption, and when resisted, they pursued them. According to Roa, one carried a knife, as confirmed by authorities. In intervening to protect her friend, she was knocked down and beaten, temporarily losing consciousness. After the attack, they went to a hospital but received no care.
Initially, she reported a knee wound, ankle swelling, and cervical pain. A subsequent MRI diagnosed a medial meniscus tear and traumatic patellar bursitis, worsened by a prior left ankle injury. These issues weakened her ligaments and leg muscles, preventing activities like running or playing soccer.
“I can't do any sport that impacts the knee (soccer/running) until we follow a treatment with analgesics, anti-inflammatories, chondroprotectors, and physiotherapy,” she explained on social media. If there is no improvement, she will face surgery. Despite the emotional toll, Roa expressed resolve: “This guy took a lot from me and it's hard for me to talk about it, but taking away my soccer… I'm going to fight against all the bad that happened that day and the following ones.”
The influencer, passionate about sports, seeks recovery without losing her passion.
