Mexico City Metro Line 2 closes Portales and Nativitas stations from May 1 amid ongoing rehab

As part of the continuing rehabilitation of Mexico City Metro Line 2 for the 2026 World Cup—following earlier closures at stations like Tasqueña, Viaducto, and others in April—Portales and Nativitas stations will close from May 1 until further notice for platform works. The line will operate in two circuits over the May 1-3 weekend, with RTP buses covering affected sections.

Service at Portales and Nativitas suspends from 22:00 on Thursday, April 30, continuing the integral upgrades across Line 2 that began in February.

On Friday, May 1 (7:00 to 24:00), Saturday, May 2 (6:00 to 24:00), and Sunday, May 3 (7:00 to 24:00), Line 2 will run in the Tasqueña-Xola and Cuatro Caminos-Pino Suárez circuits.

Stations San Antonio Abad, Chabacano, and Viaducto will also close without train passage during this first May weekend. Red de Transporte de Pasajeros (RTP) buses will serve the Xola-Pino Suárez stretch.

The Metro urges users to plan routes ahead and thanks them for patience during these improvements, which will enhance Line 2 service long-term. The Tu Bici viaja en Metro program applies on May 1 and 3 across all 12 lines.
