Mexico state government ensures water supply to hospitals and prisons

The Government of Mexico State delivered 710 water tankers to hospitals, dialysis clinics, and prisons as part of Operation Caudal. This supplied over 7 million liters from October 25 to November 1, 2025. It benefited more than 143,000 people, prioritizing health and the right to water.

In an effort to support public health, the State of Mexico Water Commission (CAEM) distributed 710 tanker trucks, known as pipas, to key institutions. This initiative is part of Operation Caudal, led by the Attorney General's Office of the State of Mexico (FGJEM), aimed at disrupting the illicit water trade through the regularization of wells and concessions.

From October 25 to November 1, 2025, 7 million 960 thousand liters of water were delivered. Beneficiaries include over 143,000 health workers, patients, and prison populations. Hospitals supplied include the Hospital de las Américas and Hospital General Regional No. 196 in Ecatepec; the Hospital for Chronic Diseases Dr. Gustavo Baz Prada in San Martín de las Pirámides; as well as ISEM 4TA Avenida and UMF #78 Unidad Deportiva in Nezahualcóyotl, among others.

Prisons that received support are those in El Oro, Otumba, Nezahualcóyotl, Almoloya de Juárez, Zinacantepec, and Texcoco. Through these actions, the Government of the State of Mexico reaffirms its commitment to allocate every recovered liter to homes, schools, and hospitals, ensuring equitable access to this essential resource.
