Modder shares new video for Witcher 3 HD Reworked Project

Modder Halk Hogan has released a new video showcasing the upcoming 2026 edition of The Witcher 3 HD Reworked Project NextGen. The footage compares original textures with enhanced versions, highlighting improvements in detail and performance. This mod aims to elevate the game's visuals without demanding extra hardware resources.

The Witcher 3 HD Reworked Project has long been praised for delivering high-quality textures that enhance the game's appearance while maintaining smooth performance. According to the latest update, the NextGen Edition 2026 builds on this foundation with several key upgrades.

The new video, shared by modder Halk Hogan, provides a side-by-side comparison of vanilla textures against the reworked ones. These improvements include top-notch textures that run efficiently without requiring additional VRAM, making them accessible for players already using maximum settings. The mod pack features high-quality, accurate normal maps, many derived from detailed 3D models, along with enhanced levels of detail (LODs) for objects and improved view distances.

For the 2026 release, further enhancements are planned. Many objects that were previously static will incorporate wind simulation, adding dynamism to environments. All characters receive reworks, as do Geralt's armor, equipment, and Roach's model, resulting in significantly more detailed visuals overall.

No specific release date has been announced, but the mod is targeted for sometime in 2026. In the meantime, the previous version of the mod remains available for download and is recommended as the premier HD texture pack for The Witcher 3. This ongoing project underscores the vibrant modding community supporting CD Projekt Red's RPG, allowing players to revisit the game with refreshed graphics.
