Modo announces signings of Caderoth and Wahlberg

Modo Hockey presented its first two new players for the 2026/27 season on Tuesday: center Arvid Caderoth from Vimmerby and defenseman Oskar Wahlberg from Frölunda. Caderoth, who served as assistant captain in Vimmerby, signed a two-year deal. Sport chief Henrik Gradin called Caderoth a leader and strong faceoff specialist.

Arvid Caderoth, whose youth club is Hovås and who developed in Frölunda's system, moved to the NCAA in the US in 2020 for four years. He then played in the ECHL with Greenville Swamp Rabbits and finished that season in Denmark with Frederikshavn. Last season, he returned to Sweden with Vimmerby, recording 14 points in 50 regular-season games while assisting as team captain there. Now heading to Örnsköldsvik, Caderoth told Modo's website, 'I thrived well in Vimmerby, but the conditions are different, and when I heard Modo was interested, it felt exciting. Vimmerby aimed to stay up, but Modo has bigger ambitions—that's a key reason I chose them.' He added, 'Personally, I want the biggest role possible and perform to help us reach SHL eventually. My strengths are defensive, and I'm working on offense.' Gradin said, 'Arvid is a leader who plays maturely and is a stable center. He's one of the league's best at faceoffs. We're glad to have him on a two-year contract.'
