Country singer Morgan Wallen canceled his June 6 concert at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh due to severe weather concerns and later responded to fan criticism.
On Saturday, June 6, Wallen announced the cancellation on Instagram. He stated that talks with local officials and his team left no choice but to call off the show because of expected severe weather conditions. Safety for fans and crew was his top priority, he wrote. In a follow-up video on Instagram Stories, Wallen said his team received warnings that morning about dangerous wind conditions. He noted that the weather had not yet reached Pittsburgh but added that a large stage could become fatal in such conditions. Wallen addressed online speculation by saying much of the circulating information was not true and that he wanted to clear the air. The cancellation followed Wallen’s performance the previous night at the same venue, where former WWE star Kurt Angle joined him for his walkout. Saturday had been designated a KDKA First Alert Weather Day, with forecasters warning of strong storms between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. Some fans expressed frustration on social media, with one claiming no rain had occurred by 11 p.m. A local radio host reported that stadium officials were upset over the timing of the decision.
