The No. 1 Auburn equestrian team closed its regular season with a dominant 15-4 victory over No. 5 Texas A&M on March 7, 2026, at the Auburn University Equestrian Center. Auburn won all four events and swept the Most Outstanding Performer honors on Senior Day. The result secures the Tigers the No. 1 seed for the SEC Championship, which they will host on March 27-28.
Auburn, now 9-2 overall and 4-2 in the SEC, honored eight seniors before the match: Holland Barnett, Caroline Buchanan, Caroline Fredenburg, Lauren Hall, Isabel Litkenhous, Baylee Mckeever, Charlotte McLaughlin, and Alexia Tordoff. Head coach Jessica Braswell praised the team's performance, saying, “I’m so proud of this team and how they performed. What a way for these seniors to finish the regular season together. We still have a lot of work in front of us, but I’m excited about where we are.” She added, “I also was to thank the Auburn family for another great crowd today. We are looking forward to hosting SECs in a couple of weeks with our fans being able to come and support.”
Auburn led 7-3 at halftime after winning Flat 4-1 and Reining 3-2. In Flat, Sadie Berkhout defeated her opponent 77-69.5, Avery Glynn scored 86.5 for the MOP win, Ariana Marnell edged 82.5-82, and Kate Hagerty won 83-74.5. Texas A&M's Nicole McMillion took the fifth point with 81 on Whispi. In Reining, Caroline Buchanan earned MOP with 70.5-68.25, Sofia Tieche won 70-69.5, and Callie Hogg scored 68.5-64.75. Texas A&M's Moriah McQueen and Gracie Casebolt secured points with 68.75 and 65.25, respectively.
After the break, Auburn went 3-1-1 in Horsemanship, with Alexia Tordoff winning 77-74.5, Caroline Fredenburg taking MOP at 77, Brooke Jolstad edging 75.25-75, and Sydney Swallom tying 74-74. Texas A&M's Ady Kallay won 73.25-72.75. Auburn completed the sweep in Fences 5-0: Caroline Olsen 73.5-72, Ariana Marnell MOP 88-84, Kate Hagerty 86-83.5, Avery Glynn 79-78.5, and Emily Jurnovoy 85.5-83.5.
Texas A&M finishes the regular season 5-5 overall and 3-4 in the SEC. The SEC Championship will be held at the Auburn University Equestrian Center with free admission.
