PT Pindad has confirmed its readiness to supply a transparent presidential car design as requested by President Prabowo Subianto. The president made the request directly to facilitate greetings with the public.
PT Pindad Director Sigit Puji Santosa said the company received the request directly from President Prabowo and is now making preparations. He added that the firm would await an official government announcement for further details.
The request emerged during President Prabowo's speech at the launch of village cooperative outlets in Nganjuk, East Java, on Saturday 16 May 2026. The president noted the enthusiasm of residents who wait for hours in the sun to greet him.
President Prabowo currently uses the Maung Garuda presidential car designed by PT Pindad, which has been in service since 20 October 2024. The vehicle was also used during the ASEAN Summit in Cebu, Philippines.
