Police deploy more than 1,096 officers for Neiva elections

The Neiva Metropolitan Police activated an operation with 1,096 officers to secure the electoral day.

The operation covers 1,023 voting tables, with police presence at 96 percent of them. It also includes scrutiny centers, data transmission points, and Registraduría offices.

Colonel Héctor Jairo Betancourt Rojas said the institution prepared in advance on operational, logistical, and academic aspects. “We want to convey a message of tranquility: we are prepared and have all the capabilities to handle any situation that arises during the elections,” he stated.

The Police will also maintain surveillance services in neighborhoods and municipalities to address citizen security needs during the process.
