Le Figaro ranked 400 coastal communes on 55 criteria. The PACA region leads in several categories but shows mixed results.
In the large cities category, Fréjus and Nice take third place nationally behind Vannes and Ajaccio. Fréjus stands out with top ranking in tourism interest and fourth in weather, along with prices considered reasonable.
Nice leads in health at second place and shops at third, though it falls to thirteenth on security. Antibes follows in fifth place thanks to the highest incomes in the category.
Hyères and Marseille rank eighth and seventh respectively. Villeneuve-Loubet and Saint-Cyr-sur-Mer appear among the top medium-sized towns, fourth and fifth out of 76 communes.
