PWS Korea builds on breakout year ahead of Wrestle Nation 2

Pro Wrestling Society (PWS) Korea is preparing to host thousands of fans at Wrestle Nation 2 on May 9 at KBS Arena, building on last year's milestone of 3,000 spectators. Founder and director Shiho aims to position PWS as the center of pro wrestling in Asia. The group has grown through systematic storytelling and family-friendly strategies.

Pro Wrestling Society (PWS) Korea has undergone a major overhaul in recent years, shifting to a more systematic approach to pro wrestling. Shiho, who debuted as a wrestler in 2012, rebuilt the roster after creative differences with earlier wrestlers. He drew lessons from U.S. figures like WWE writer Drake Maverick and performer Yoshihiro Tajiri to train a new generation from scratch.

Shiho likened pro wrestling to film or theater, stating, “If you want to make a good show, you need centralized control. Like a movie, there’s a director and a writer, and actors follow direction.” The promotion has become more family-friendly, inspired by 1980s cartoonish wrestling, and partnered with YouTuber SchoolFoodKing to attract young viewers through villain roles.

Monthly attendance has risen from about 50 to 800 people, and YouTube subscribers have grown from 10,000 to nearly 100,000 in two years. Wrestle Nation 2 on May 9 at KBS Arena will feature former WWE champion Nic Nemeth, with a women's division introduced over the past two years. Shiho noted the promotion has grown about 10 times compared to two years ago.

Tickets range from 80,000 won to 120,000 won and are available online.
