Rick Ross appeared on The Joe Budden Podcast to clarify that his past relationship with Drake was genuine. The discussion came during a Patreon exclusive episode released July 17.
Joe Budden questioned why Ross and Drake had not publicly described their earlier collaborations and public displays of brotherhood as a facade. Ross rejected the suggestion outright.
"No, no, don’t get it f—ked up. Nothing about that was fake," Ross said. He added that friendships can end without prior indication, noting that situations sometimes shift without explanation.
Ross compared the dynamic to Budden’s own past split from co-hosts Rory Farrell and Jamil "Mal" Clay, framing such changes as part of business decisions rather than hidden insincerity.
On the same day, Ross released his twelfth solo album, Set in Stone, while continuing his Port of Miami 20th Anniversary Tour.
