Senate approves invitation to Mauro Vieira to explain report on risk of US military action

The Senate Foreign Relations Commission approved on Tuesday a request to invite Minister Mauro Vieira to provide clarifications on an Itamaraty report.

The request was proposed by Senator Hamilton Mourão and seeks details on analyses of risks of US military actions in Brazil.

The topic arose after Itamaraty responded to questions from the Chamber of Deputies made on July 1.

The hearing has no set date yet, as the parliamentary recess begins next week.
