Siddhartha Shukla steps down as Lanvin deputy CEO

Siddhartha Shukla is leaving his role as deputy CEO of Lanvin after more than four years, the company announced. Andy Lew, the brand's chairman and CEO, will oversee its strategic direction moving forward. Shukla's tenure focused on transforming the French fashion house amid industry challenges.

Siddhartha Shukla joined Lanvin in December 2021 as deputy CEO to guide the brand's transformation following turbulent years after the 2015 departure of designer Alber Elbaz. The house had cycled through creative directors including Bouchra Jarrar, Olivier Lapidus, and Bruno Sialelli.

During his time, Shukla reset the brand's identity, product strategy, store concepts, and visual identity. He collaborated with photographer Steven Meisel on a 2022 black-and-white campaign featuring a new logo designed by M|M Paris. After Bruno Sialelli's exit in April 2023, Shukla appointed Peter Copping as artistic director in June 2024. Copping, known for his work at Nina Ricci and Oscar de la Renta, brought a focus on feminine designs. Shukla described this shift as a return to 'le chic ultime, the ultimate chic,' echoing founder Jeanne Lanvin, in a November 2024 interview with Vogue Business.

Under Shukla, Lanvin returned to the Paris Fashion Week schedule with Copping's collections, which saw year-on-year growth in women's ready-to-wear, shoes, and leather goods. Sales rose from €73 million in 2021 to about €120 million in 2023. However, facing an industry downturn, the decline of its sneaker line including the Curb model, and the closure of around a dozen stores mainly in China, revenues fell to approximately €100 million in 2025.

The announcement came a week after Lanvin's Paris Fashion Week show, praised by Vogue Runway's Sarah Mower for featuring 'so many great dresses' reminiscent of the Elbaz era.

Andy Lew, appointed chairman and CEO of Lanvin in January 2025 and executive president of parent company Lanvin Group, stated: 'I would like to thank Siddhartha for his contribution to Lanvin during these past four years. We wish him every success in his future professional endeavors.' Shukla responded: 'Guiding the brand and business of Lanvin has been one of the greatest challenges and greatest honors of my career. As I step down after four remarkable years, I do so with immense pride in what we have achieved together and with enduring confidence in the team’s ability to carry forward our convictions and our shared vision for this treasure of French fashion and culture.'

Prior to Lanvin, Shukla spent 12 years in marketing at Kering for Gucci and Saint Laurent, followed by eight years at Theory, the last two as chief brand officer.

Lanvin Group, listed on the New York Stock Exchange since December 2022, has faced pressures from China's economic slowdown. It reported €133 million in revenue for the first half of 2025, a 22% drop from the prior year, with widening EBITDA losses. In February 2026, it sold its menswear brand Caruso and retains ownership of Wolford, Sergio Rossi, and St John.
