Södertälje SK is close to completing its roster ahead of the Hockeyallsvenskan season. Head coach Andreas Johansson shared details on recent signings and team plans in an interview.
The team has signed several players including Gustav Salmi-Lilja as its latest addition. Johansson met with Salmi-Lilja during a visit to Södertälje. The squad is set to reassemble on August 3.
Johansson noted that the forward group is largely settled while one or two defensemen could still be added. He confirmed ongoing talks with players such as Carter Ashton but stressed no decisions have been made.
Tarun Fizer turned down higher offers from elsewhere including Finland to join SSK. The club had monitored the forward for more than a year before signing him.
A new captain will be chosen after training matches against Linköping and Oskarshamn on August 27 and 28. Johansson said the role requires respect within the group and will not be decided immediately.
