Sony blocks Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls in 132 countries

Sony Interactive Entertainment will not sell its upcoming fighting game Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls on Steam in 132 countries. The restriction matches the list of nations where PlayStation Network services remain unavailable. The title is scheduled to launch on August 6.

The game, developed by Arc System Works, requires a PlayStation Network account for crossplay between PC and PlayStation 5 versions. SteamDB lists the same 132 countries previously affected by Helldivers 2 restrictions, including Jamaica, Iran, Belarus, Egypt, and Nigeria.

Sony has applied the block to both Steam and the Epic Games Store. Players in these regions cannot purchase the title where PlayStation Network access is not offered.

The decision follows Sony's reported shift toward releasing only live-service games on PC. Crossplay features appear to drive the limitation, though options to disable the feature exist on other platforms.
