Springbok Women Prepare for USA Eagles Test Series

The Springbok Women will host the USA Eagles in a two-test rugby series starting at Ellis Park on 4 July.

South Africa, ranked 10th in the world, face the eighth-ranked Americans in the first match at Ellis Park. The second test follows at Loftus Versfeld on 11 July.

The series marks the first meetings between the nations on African soil. The Bok Women aim to build on their 2025 Women’s Rugby World Cup quarterfinal appearance and their recent Rugby Africa Women’s Cup title defence.

Libbie Janse van Rensburg said the team wants to maintain momentum from last year. She added that playing stronger opposition will help identify weaknesses.

Assistant coach Laurian Johannes-Haupt highlighted set-piece strength and defensive systems as key focus areas. The team announcement is scheduled for today.
