SRM School of Law welcomes 350 new students

SRM School of Law at SRM Institute of Science and Technology welcomed about 350 students into its LLB and LLM programmes for the 2026-27 academic year.

Justice V. Ramasubramanian, Chairperson of the National Human Rights Commission, spoke at the event. He urged students to use every learning opportunity and noted that legal education reaches beyond the classroom into all parts of life and society. He also inaugurated the Centre for Human Rights Studies and the Centre for International Humanitarian Law and Refugee Law.

A.R.L. Sundaresan, Additional Solicitor General of India, stressed the need for discipline, integrity and professionalism. He highlighted the value of building careers on ethical principles.

Vivek Sriram, Partner at Khaitan and Co., advised the new students to bring curiosity, resilience and an open mind to their studies. Y.S.R. Murthy, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Law) at SRMIST, also addressed the gathering.
