Steelers 2026 undrafted free agent class shrinks further

The Pittsburgh Steelers have trimmed their 2026 undrafted free agent group from six players to four ahead of training camp. Two long-shot additions were released this month. The moves continue a recent pattern of limited success with undrafted signings.

Arizona State tight end Chamon Metayer and Missouri inside linebacker Daylan Carnell were cut after receiving the smallest signing bonuses in the class. Metayer signed for $10,000 and Carnell for $5,000.

The remaining players are kicker Laith Marjan, cornerback Devan Boykin, defensive lineman Kevin Jobity Jr., and tight end Lake McRee. Marjan faces long odds of making the roster behind incumbent Chris Boswell.

Pittsburgh added center Greg Crippen after rookie minicamp and signed cornerback Tamon Lynum. The team also brought in veterans tight end Robert Tonyan and inside linebacker Jacoby Windmon to replace the two cuts.
