Detroit Tigers left-hander Tarik Skubal is making positive progress following surgery to remove a loose body from his elbow. The procedure took place on Wednesday, and the team reports an optimistic outlook for his return to the rotation.
Skubal underwent the operation performed by Dr. Neal ElAttrache in Los Angeles. He is now headed to the Tigers' Spring Training facility in Lakeland, Florida, to begin the early stages of rehabilitation. He will not resume throwing until the surgical incisions heal.
