Tesla plans to let drivers customize parking behavior in its Full Self-Driving system, including specific spaces and vehicle orientation. CEO Elon Musk confirmed the upcoming changes on X, building on earlier announcements about remembering driver habits.
Musk posted on July 21 that the feature is coming soon. Drivers will soon choose specific parking spaces and the orientation of the vehicle when pulling in.
The changes address common complaints with assigned parking spots and preferred distances from businesses. Tesla has noted that parking accounts for many driver interventions in FSD.
A 2026 Summer Update also adds Automatic Navigation and Preferred Routes. These adjustments seek to reduce interventions by aligning vehicle actions with user habits.
Musk has stated twice in recent weeks that the system will remember specific driver preferences across parking and routing tasks.
