Center Party leader Elisabeth Thand Ringqvist presented a proposal during her speech in Almedalen to make the first 15,300 kronor per month tax-free.

The proposal replaces the earned income tax credit and applies equally to everyone. It is estimated to cost 24.2 billion kronor per year and could be introduced in 2028 after review.

Thand Ringqvist said the reform could create 40,000 to 50,000 new jobs. The party aims for a total of 150,000 new jobs during the next term through several tax cuts.

She described the proposal as a modern work line. The Center Party also wants to reduce employer contributions for small businesses and low wages.
