Three adolescents were charged by the Fiscalía de La Araucanía for the murder of Ingrid del Carmen Barrera Rantul in Loncoche. The 53-year-old victim suffered multiple stab wounds at her home on June 15, 2026. All three suspects, who are minors, were placed in provisional detention.
The victim's minor daughter, identified as H.G.C.B., along with her boyfriend R.I.F.F. and a schoolmate, A.D.S.R., were charged at the Juzgado de Garantía de Loncoche. According to prosecutors, the couple hired A.D.S.R. to carry out the killing in exchange for between 60,000 and 90,000 pesos.
The events took place on June 15, 2026. A.D.S.R. entered through a window left open by the victim's daughter and attacked the woman with a bladed weapon. Prosecutor Ghislaine Durán noted that the victim tried to defend herself before being killed.
Judge Evelyn Irribarra Orozco ordered the three placed in provisional detention at the Centro de Internación Provisoria de Cholchol. A 120-day investigation period was set. The two males face qualified homicide charges and the young woman faces parricide charges.
