The incidents occurred at Birger Jarlsgatan, Kungsgatan, and a subway. In the accused's homes, "Mein Kampf," swastikas, and materials from Aktivklubb, a far-right organization, were found.
One of the victims, 42-year-old Mohammad Alaudt Allah, who fled Syria and has lived in Sweden for ten years, was smoking at a subway entrance on Birger Jarlsgatan when he was ambushed. "It was so very ruthless. I didn't even have a chance to react," he tells SVT. He was kicked in the head, suffered a concussion, and had several teeth destroyed, but remembers nothing due to unconsciousness. "I look over my shoulder now if I hear someone behind me," he says, feeling unsafe and humiliated. He links his fear to political statements about immigrants that may give a "green light" to violence.
Another victim, robbed and assaulted on Kungsgatan, broke down in tears during the trial and described racist slurs as the "lowest moment" in his life. "You feel unwanted and helpless," he said. The third, assaulted on a subway, felt unease for weeks afterward and worried it could happen again.
Prosecutor Gustav Andersson showed surveillance footage capturing Nazi salutes and attacks from multiple angles, including kicks to downed victims. The assaults are charged as gross with hate crime motives due to origin. The accused deny the crimes and claim self-defense in some cases. The trial is held in the security hall due to the threat level.
