Two people died in an accident on the A14 motorway near Ludwigslust on Sunday.
A 60-year-old man drove off the road to the right for unknown reasons. When police arrived, the driver and his 59-year-old passenger were still trapped inside the vehicle.
The woman died at the scene despite resuscitation efforts. The man was airlifted to a clinic by helicopter but died in the evening.
The A14 towards Dresden remained closed until late in the evening.
