Uppsala invests in lively summer city with over 200 activities

Uppsala Municipality is carrying out a major investment together with businesses and associations to create a lively summer city with more than 200 activities, most of them free.

The investment stems from the municipality's goals and budget for 2026. It aims to develop squares and public spaces with more events, furniture and greenery.

Events gained momentum in May and June with Sommarsläppet, Vaksalafesten and the National Day celebration. Renovations have been carried out at sites such as Vaksala Torg and Humlegården.

Summer streets on Svartbäcksgatan, Östra Ågatan and Fyristorg offer seating and outdoor dining. Slottsbacken has gained more paths and seating for concerts.
