Valencia Basket beats Real Madrid in Euroliga

Valencia Basket secured a convincing 89-76 win over Real Madrid in the Euroliga's 10th round, building on their strong form. The home team's defense stifled key opponents like Edy Tavares and Facu Campazzo, with Omari Moore and Nate Reuvers shining offensively. The victory keeps them unbeaten at home before nearly 15,000 fans at Roig Arena.

In the 10th round of the 2025-2026 Euroliga, Valencia Basket under Pedro Martínez seized control against Sergio Scariolo's Real Madrid at Roig Arena. After an even start with traded baskets, Jaime Pradilla's three-pointer four minutes before halftime proved pivotal (35-32). At the end of the second quarter, Nate Reuvers dunked on Tavares to draw his third foul, and Darius Thompson followed with a three for a 45-38 halftime lead.

Valencia displayed team play, with Omari Moore scoring 16 points, Reuvers 14, and Thompson 14, while limiting Tavares to one in-game shot and five turnovers. Real Madrid, led by Trey Lyles' 23 points and nine rebounds, struggled at 22% from three. In the third quarter, the home lead held at 62-56 by the 27th minute, and Tavares' fourth foul sped up play, allowing Valencia to hit 72-60 by the 32nd minute.

Scariolo left halftime angry over an unstopped timeout clock, delaying the third quarter and sparking disputes with officials. Despite lineups featuring Lyles at 'five' and Gabriel Deck at 'four', Madrid couldn't close the gap. Valencia's defense, bolstered by players like Xabi López-Arostegui and Pradilla, guarded the rim effectively, securing their fourth home win and placing them among the Euroliga's top six.
