Victor Aronsson extends contract with Almtuna IS

Almtuna IS captain Victor Aronsson has signed a new contract to stay with the club for another season. The 33-year-old defenseman has already played 457 games for his hometown team. He is now 43 matches away from reaching 500 appearances.

The Uppsala-born player expressed pride in remaining with the club where his career began.

Sportchef Jonas Almtorp highlighted Aronsson's importance as a leader.

Aronsson has spent most of his career at Almtuna after brief stints in the SHL with Karlskrona and other clubs. He has recorded 122 SHL games and 515 HockeyAllsvenskan appearances overall. The extension could make him only the second player in club history to reach 500 matches, behind Johan Berggren's record of 547.
