Wisconsin mother charged with fatally stabbing teenage daughter

Tyiece Oninski faces first-degree intentional homicide charges after allegedly stabbing her 14-year-old daughter Kuren Rein to death in Turtle, Wisconsin. Oninski called dispatchers on March 20, admitting she murdered the girl to protect her from Elon Musk. She is being held on $1 million bond.

Tyiece Oninski, 41, called a non-emergency line in Rock County on the morning of March 20, stating she had murdered her daughter the previous night. When asked if an ambulance was needed, she replied, 'She's dead, honey. She needs a hearse.' During the 13-minute call, Oninski said she killed Kuren Rein to 'protect her from somebody else,' specifically naming billionaire Elon Musk, according to the criminal complaint cited by WMTV, an NBC affiliate in the area. She also mentioned attempting suicide afterward, with self-inflicted cuts on her neck and wrists found by deputies who arrived at 7:56 a.m. at the home in Turtle, Wisconsin. Kuren was discovered dead from multiple stab wounds, with a knife and sheath nearby. Oninski was hospitalized for her injuries and tested positive for benzodiazepines, amphetamines and THC. While there, she asked if her name was in the news and expressed disappointment when told it was not, police said. Rock County Sheriff's Office deputies detailed these events in the complaint leading to her charge on Monday. Oninski is in custody at Rock County Jail on $1 million bond, with her next court appearance set for April 14. Kuren is survived by an older brother, and a GoFundMe has been established for funeral costs.
