Kuro Games has released version 3.0 of Wuthering Waves on December 25, 2025, introducing Chapter III and a new underground region called Lahai Roi. The update expands the game's narrative with science fiction elements, adds new characters and weapons, and includes collaborations with SEGA's Persona and Sonic franchises. Players logging in will receive special rewards to celebrate the launch.
The latest major update for the free-to-play action RPG Wuthering Waves arrived today, marking the game's largest post-launch expansion. Titled 'We Who See The Stars,' version 3.0 kicks off Chapter III of the episodic storyline, blending mechanical futurism with space-themed romance. It features two acts: 'What Burns Beneath Frostlands' and 'Ode to the Second Sunrise,' set in the newly introduced Lahai Roi region.
Lahai Roi is depicted as a vast underground world hidden beneath the Roya Frostlands, which became isolated after a polar shift altered the planet's climate. This warm, humid refuge has fostered a unique ecosystem from extinct prehistoric life forms, offering a fresh map structure and exploration mechanics distinct from prior areas.
Two new Resonators, Lynae and Mornye, join the roster, enhancing team-building options. The update introduces weapons like the Spectrum Blaster, Starfield Calibrator, and the Synth Armament Series, alongside new Echoes, Phantom Echoes, and Sonata Effects to diversify combat strategies. For mobility, players gain the Expedition Motorbike utility to navigate Lahai Roi more efficiently.
High-level content includes the Doubled Pawns Matrix Pilot, a recurring high-difficulty mode, plus permanent additions like Operation Frontier Renewal and Tactical Hologram Dreamless. Limited-time events cover area exploration, Echo combat challenges, racing, photo collection, and a seven-day login campaign.
A highlight is the SEGA collaboration, integrating Persona and Sonic-themed content. To commemorate the launch, in-game mail delivers 10 Radiant Tide and 10 Crystal Solvent, while the community receives 1600 Astrite as thanks for recent awards, including the Players’ Voice at The Game Awards 2025, PlayStation Partner Award, Google Play Best Ongoing Award, and a Hollywood Music In Media Award for music.
Wuthering Waves version 3.0 is available now on PC, PlayStation 5, Mac, iOS, and Android with cross-platform support, promising continued episodic updates.
