A new report indicates that Randy Orton and Kevin Owens are set to make their on-screen returns to WWE programming in the near future. Orton could appear within the next week, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Both stars have been sidelined for extended periods due to injuries and other factors.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Orton and Owens are both expected to be returning very soon, with Orton perhaps making his comeback within the next week. Orton has been absent since losing to Cody Rhodes in the main event of WrestleMania 42 Night One.
Dave Meltzer noted that Orton was actually scheduled to beat Rhodes at WrestleMania unless his back injury prevented it. Plans changed after the injury became clear, though Orton had claimed he was simply taking the summer off.
Owens has been out since early 2025 following neck surgery in July 2025. He has made non-wrestling appearances as a coach on WWE LFG and at NXT events. Owens is scheduled for a meet and greet during the 2026 SummerSlam weekend in Minneapolis.
Cody Rhodes and Sami Zayn, the latest opponents for Orton and Owens respectively, are both set to compete at the two-night SummerSlam premium live event.
