Second group of Spanish activists returns after detention in Israel

A second group of 27 Spanish activists from the Global Sumud Flotilla returned to Spain on Monday after deportation by Israel, denouncing torture and mistreatment during their detention. They arrived in Madrid, Barcelona, and Bilbao, recounting episodes of physical and psychological violence. One activist, Reyes Rico, remains detained in Israel.
Authorities at Cairo International Airport barred poet and political activist Ahmed Douma from traveling to Beirut early Sunday, a trip he described as an effort to escape the limbo of ongoing security harassment since his 2023 release. Douma said he plans to appeal the travel ban within two days.

Writer and activist Alaa Abd El Fattah's name has been removed from travel ban lists by a public prosecutor's decision, lawyer Khaled Ali announced in a Facebook post on Saturday.
