Capcom apologized for confusion surrounding Alex's storyline in Street Fighter 6, announcing plans to revise certain in-game text passages. The wrestler character's backstory depicts a romantic relationship with his second cousin and step-sister, Patricia, including marriage and a child on the way, which drew fan backlash. Director Takayuki Nakayama shared the statement on X on March 26.
Capcom is bringing back Alex as a DLC character in Street Fighter 6, set for release on March 17, 2026, transforming the once-maligned wrestler into a compelling heel fighter. This marks the third addition to the game's Fighter Pass, following C. Viper and Sagat. The update addresses nearly three decades of fan dissatisfaction stemming from Alex's debut in Street Fighter 3.
