Police in Lower Bavaria have arrested five men suspected of planning an attack on a Christmas market near Dingolfing. Authorities suspect an Islamist motivation and believe the attack was to be carried out with a vehicle. The arrests took place on Friday, with investigations ongoing.
The city of Frankfurt is enabling 8000 children from low-income families to visit the Christmas market with vouchers worth up to 20 euros. The initiative targets children aged three to twelve who hold a Frankfurt Pass. It aims to ensure no child is excluded from the holiday festivities.
