Natchez Mayor Dan M. Gibson has launched the Mayor’s Book Club, an initiative to promote early childhood literacy by mailing free books to children from birth to age 5. The program aims to reach 500 children monthly and is believed to be the first of its kind sponsored by a mayor in Mississippi. A launch event is scheduled for Thursday, March 12, at Dixon Books in downtown Natchez.

The Vegas Golden Knights announced a five-week Outdoor NHL Learn to Play program in Big Sky, Montana, starting January 4, 2026. The initiative targets boys and girls ages 4 to 10, providing equipment and coaching at Marty Pavelich Ice Rink. A free youth clinic for older kids will follow the first session.
